Lion: The lion is very fearful in the bush. I asked the guide, ‘Why do people always say the lion is the king of the animals?’ He told me that the lion is very dangerous. It can’t joke with the other animals in the bush. It showed to me that it’s true. That day when I saw the lion the face really showed to me that it’s very dangerous. That day the lion was looking for other animals to eat but there was no way. It was a very hot sun. The driver said the lion was a female and she just delivered many cubs and was looking for food for the babies. A female that has given birth can be really hungry.
If we take care of lions and other animals in the bush it will really bring peace in our country because in Liberia you can’t see wildlife up close. It’s very hard to lay eyes on lions in Liberia. All of them are far in the bush because the hunters are looking for them. Whenever they lay eyes on them they will kill them. That makes the wildlife far away from us. That makes problems for our country. We’re supposed to be friendly with the animals and they will give us messages in our dreams. We are animals, too, and we are high class animals. We have ideas more than them. For example, lions can not go to elephants and teach them. Whenever lions go to elephants it will bring fighting among them because lions cannot talk among themselves like human beings. I know that animals communicate among themselves. The guide told me that giraffes have peace among themselves and they do not like conflict between themselves and the other animals. I really noticed it because we could see the giraffes and other animals together.
Mama Deena Praying: Mama Deena really showed to me that she has love and faith to animals. For example, (in the sand rivers) it’s very hard for you to see water. When we reached to the water area, it was very dry. The sun was very hot. So she went and took a cup of water and she also prayed on that water that whenever the elephants drink water anywhere, their hearts should be in peace. It really showed to me that myself, I’ve got to be having peace with animals and to love them. We the human beings, we’ve got to love animals because animals bring messages, good advice in the world and whenever we listen to animal messages it will bring everlasting peace in our lives.
